San Miguel Power Association (SMPA) has just informed us that they anticipate restoration of power by 1 p.m. this afternoon.
· The gondola line traveling between Mountain Village and Telluride is operating on back-up power.
· The gondola between MV Town Hall and the MV Core is closed, however busses are running between the two locations.
At approximately 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon, a refrigerator-sized boulder fell 800 feet and smashed into a transmission pole near Ilium, cutting power to most of the Mountain Village, Telluride, and down valley areas. SMPA and Tri-State crews have been working through the night to restore power to our region but have been hampered by the treacherous terrain. We will keep you updated if anything changes.
