Amendments to Design Regulations of Community Development Code (CDC)
At their Jan. 19 meeting, Mountain Village Town Council held a first reading, setting of a public hearing and Council vote on changes to design regulations of the CDC.
The proposed changes are aimed at reducing inflexible standards and emphasizing the importance of creating a comprehensive design that addresses the evolution of alpine architecture in Mountain Village.
The proposed changes are consistent with TMVOA’s previous notice that was sent on Nov. 2, 2016. Council unanimously approved the first reading of these changes, with the second reading scheduled for Feb. 16, 2017.

New Communications Tower on Coonskin Ridge
The San Miguel Board of County Commissioners reviewed an application that was referred by the Town on Mountain Village regarding the construction of a new communication tower to be located on Coonskin Ridge.
The new tower would allow for enhanced cell phone coverage and is essential for continuing emergency service communications.
The three Commissioners discussed the application, with two providing supportive statements for the new tower in the name of public safety and the remaining taking a more neutral position. The County will take roughly a week to prepare their final referring remarks back to the Town of Mountain Village.
