Governing Documents Committee Meeting 2/18 at 3pm
As a reminder, this committee was formed to review TMVOA’s governing documents to ensure they are in compliance with state and federal regulations.
On 2/8/21 the entire TMVOA Board held a Special Meeting and discussed the committee’s formation, objectives, and forward plan. The Board also addressed expanding the committee to include a TMVOA member-at-large and a Town Council member. After thorough deliberation, the Board unanimously approved the addition of these two representatives by changing the committee from a Board Committee to an Auxiliary Committee in accordance with TMVOA’s Governing Documents.
Tomorrow the committee will be holding a meeting to cover:
– Review & discuss committee resolution converting committee to an Auxiliary Committee
– Update on legal counsel status and schedule
– Overview of TMVOA governing document regulations:
o Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act (CCIOA)
o Colorado Nonprofit Corporation Act
o IRS 501(c)(4) regulations and rulings
o 1999 Settlement Agreement with San Miguel County and the Town of Mountain Village
